Moi Universtity Students out of control

Could the Vice Chancellor’s speech calm the angry crowd of mourning students? many students awaited professor Mibey outside the administration block to address them about insecurity issues facing the entire students fraternity in Moi University today.
It was really a triumphant entry of upset students to the administration building demonstrating after an ironic death of a third year female student. Charity Muthoni Maina was in the School of Arts specializing in English and Literature. She met with the mysterious death on Sunday during night time at stage where she lived. This triggered the comrades into a tremendous demonstration that led to a police jeep being burnt to ashes.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor tried to address the students but he only managed to reach a small part of the crowd. He said that security and accommodation affairs of the students will be taken as the core business before the month ends. Some of the measures he mentioned included; moving all female students from stage to the hostels inside the university, employing more security guards to patrol around the hostels during night time, ensuring that there are street lights in all the hostels and ensuring completion of the unfinished hostels i.e. I, M and N.
Later, the students demanded to be addressed by the Vice Chancellor. It took a couple of minutes before he could appear. The students pushed around the senate building entrance till he could start his speech. He couldn’t address the students conveniently as the atmosphere was not calm for his speech.  Apparently, he could be heard trying to calm the students. He more or less repeated the same measures his deputy had mentioned.
The unsatisfied students moved towards the stage disagreeing with the proposed reccommendations by the VC. The big question that remained unanswered is that, could there be a tragedy in the university so that the concerned stakeholders to act?
